Today we celebrate our multiculturalism, something we should all be proud of, but let's not forget how we got here.
I've always celebrated Australia day, and I don't think we should stop celebrating. It's part of our culture. We should be proud of how far we've come. We should also realise how far we have to go.
Some points are valid. What happened was fucking deplorable, and can't be undone. What's still happening now is also very wrong, but if we can't move forward, we're gonna stay where we are.
We need to sort our priorities out. Changing the date might make some people feel better, no doubt about that, but virtue signalling won't fix the ingrained racism in our country. People who have lived together for 200 years still can't get along.
We are all the fucking same.
